1. Biography & band members

MXL is a professional live cover act featuring five lead singers, a well-balanced instrumental core and an appropriate stage presentation. Eternal hits and the newest songs are combined into an impressive live show for all kinds of occasions. The musicians within MXL are capable to play a very diverse repertoire, including pop, rock and soul but also funk, r&b, hip hop and dance. MXL live shows are suitable for national and international audiences, of different age, culture and origin. Whether the stage show is located at a corporate event, festival, nightclub, wedding or an other event: MXL makes every effort to provide its audience an unforgettable evening.

After ‘The Ultimate Party Experience' time has come for a new MXL tour show, known as MXL: New Edition. In collaboration with the talented frontman Chris van Grinsven, former member of several professional bands, a new stage show has been produced and released. The solid fundamentals of the band remain unchanged while working with the experienced musicians Robbert Hanenberg, Pim Schipperheijn, William Tüss and Michel Janssen. They already played in MXL’s popular predecessor Major League. Besides playing the essential instruments, all band members also do lead and harmony vocals in different styles of music.

MXL works with high quality products and materials, to align different live shows with different clients and audiences. In fact, the MXL band members are endorsers for several top brands in the pro-audio industry. Dutch pro-audio developer KBL Systems built a sophisticated sound system especially for MXL. It’s tuned to play different kinds of music at differing sound volumes, from quiet to bombastic and from atmospheric to powerful. In addition, MXL has its own spectacular light show starring large flatscreens, animations and stunning LED-elements. The band is assisted by a professional crew with well-grounded engineers, technicians and roadies.
 
Band members are:

• Chris van Grinsven: lead vocals, rhythm guitar

• Pim Schipperheijn: keys, vocals

This man is MXL’s key wiz, serving the band with a truckload of high quality sounds. He hits the keys, but handles to mic too, with warm vocals and absolutely whipping raps. Besides MXL's key wiz, Pim’s a great writer and producer, doing a lot of studio work for other artists in various genres. (Photo: center foreground).

• Robbert Hanenberg: lead guitar, vocals

Mindblowing lead guitarist. A man with great technical skills, open minded to many styles of music. Robbert also composes instrumental guitar music, with a multitude of influences. In 2005, he won the prestigious George Bellas Guitar Contest in Los Angeles, USA. More information is available on his MySpace: myspace.com/robberthanenberg. • William Tuss: bass, vocals

The man with the driving groove, filling the sound with full bass tones. William and his wide vocal range also do sensitive or high pitched lead vocals. On stage he also interferes with the sound mix of the band. (Photo: left background).

• Michel Janssen: drums, vocals

High level drummer with a wonderful technique and a great feel. Besides masterful drum sounds, Michel also has a very good singing voice, with the right mix of empathy, soul and power. This guy's a leading force for MXL: New Edition, on- and off stage. (Picture: right background)
